PRIVATE PIANO LESSONS AT HOME
Professional one-to-one piano tuition for children and adults, from complete beginners to more experienced players. I’m a Leeds Conservatoire graduate and professional piano teacher based in Rawdon, travelling to students’ homes across Harrogate, Knaresborough and surrounding areas.
Learn Piano Your Way
My background is particularly strong in jazz, harmony, chords and playing by ear, so lessons can go well beyond simply learning notes from a page. I can help you understand how music works, hear chord progressions, build confidence improvising and develop the skills to work songs out for yourself.
If you prefer a more traditional approach, I also teach reading music, learning from sheet music, technique and general musicianship. Piano lessons can focus on one style or combine different approaches depending on your goals.
ABOUT DAN
I’m a professional pianist and piano teacher based in Rawdon, and a graduate of Leeds Conservatoire, where I studied Jazz Piano.
I currently teach at Yorkshire Music School in Saltaire and The Music Bank in Knaresborough, alongside teaching private students in their own homes. I also work professionally as a pianist for weddings, hotels and events across Yorkshire.
My background as both a performer and teacher shapes the way I teach, combining strong musical foundations with a practical understanding of harmony, improvisation, ear training and playing confidently.

Since having my piano lessons with Dan, I’ve become much more confident in playing. He has a very relaxed and patient approach, and always makes sure that he explains things in a way that I can understand. He also commutes to my address which makes it so much easier for me to fit in the lessons around my schedule! I would definitely recommend Dan to anyone looking for a piano tutor.

Private home piano lessons are one hour in length. This gives us enough time to work properly on playing, technique, theory and musicianship while tailoring each lesson to the student’s individual goals.
