I provide live instrumental piano music for residents to listen to, enjoy and, where appropriate, sing along with. Performances can be tailored to the residents and the occasion, from relaxed background piano to a programme of familiar favourites.
My playing is rooted in jazz and popular music, with a repertoire covering well-known songs, jazz standards, classic melodies and seasonal favourites. Requests are always welcome where possible.

No piano at the home? No problem.
I can bring my own Yamaha digital piano and PA system where required. If your care home already has a suitable acoustic or digital piano, I am also happy to perform on the instrument available.
This makes performances suitable for lounges, dining rooms, communal spaces and other appropriate areas within the home.

Professional pianist and Leeds Conservatoire jazz graduate.
Dan Williams is a professional pianist with a BA (Hons) degree in Jazz from Leeds Conservatoire. Alongside care home performances, he works professionally as a piano teacher and performs for weddings, hotels, private events and other occasions across Yorkshire.
His background in jazz and popular music allows familiar songs to be arranged naturally at the piano, creating a live performance that can adapt to the room, occasion and residents.

Does our care home need to have a piano?
No. I can provide my own Yamaha digital piano and PA system. If your home already has a suitable piano, I am also happy to use the instrument available.
What music do you play?
My repertoire includes jazz standards, familiar popular songs, classic melodies and seasonal music. The repertoire can be adapted to suit the residents and the occasion.
Can residents request songs?
Yes. Requests are very welcome and I am happy to include particular favourites where possible.
Do you sing?
I provide instrumental live piano rather than vocals. Familiar songs can still be chosen for residents who enjoy singing along.
Why are performances 60 minutes?
I have found that around an hour works particularly well for care home performances, giving residents plenty of time to enjoy a varied programme of familiar music without the performance becoming tiring or losing its impact. Each 60-minute performance can be tailored to the residents and the occasion.
Are you insured?
Yes. I am a member of the Musicians' Union and hold public liability insurance.
Which areas do you cover?
I am based in Rawdon and work across West and North Yorkshire, including Leeds, Bradford, Ilkley, Skipton, Harrogate, Knaresborough, Wetherby and surrounding areas.
Can you provide an invoice?
Yes. Invoices can be provided for care homes, nursing homes and organisations.
